An Award Winning Program

In October 2021, our pre accredited Introduction to Hospitality program was nominated for a Victorian State Learn Local Award.  This nomination celebrated the achievements that we had developed pathways for our participants to advance to further learning in our Tasty Az @ Burrinja training café in their pursuit to strive to achieve employment dreams, goals and outcomes.

We are proud to announce that in December 2021 this outstanding Catering for Success program was recognised, won and awarded Finalist Victorian Learn Local Pre Accredited Program Award (for large providers).

Our Story

Work placement students looking to secure opportunities to gain valuable work experience, life skills and employability skills through experiencing a busy, bustling, vibrant “real life hands on” hospitality, cooking, catering or café environment.

Volunteer experiences for young people to explore, discover and try out the buzz of the hospitality, cooking, catering & café scene. Pre Accredited Training our Introduction to Hospitality training program delivered in partnership with The Basin Community House, focuses on developing an understanding of work place expectations. We have currently three areas of study and training being delivered: Cooking & Catering Through the enjoyment of cooking our trainers focus on reading, writing, numerical comprehension and life skills. Front of house hospitality service Through the enjoyment of hospitality service our trainers concentrate on customer services, communication skills, working in a team, organising yourself, time management, financial transactions and monetary skills, and use of technology. Kitchen garden bush tucker horticulture Through the enjoyment of our kitchen garden program our trainers concentrate on goal setting, planning, organising and problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration and working in a team. Throughout all three courses our vision is to enable participants to grow independence, confidence, knowledge and skill sets whilst developing friendships with their peers.
